The 09.G6.CDA-3910 inverter is produced by KEB within the G6 Combivert IO Inverters series. It converts fixed three-phase mains power into a variable-frequency output so that induction or permanent-magnet motors can be accelerated, decelerated, or held at a commanded speed. Serving as the central drive element in automated lines, the unit accepts both analog and digital reference signals and includes onboard safety circuitry for emergency torque suppression and controlled stopping. This arrangement allows the inverter to support coordinated motor control in conveyors, handling systems, and other compact industrial machines.
The control section offers 8 programmable digital inputs, allowing a PLC to activate preset speeds, parameter sets, or the integrated Safe Torque Off feature. On the line side, the drive draws a rated 6 A and is coordinated with a 16 A mains fuse, while an internal EMC filter helps reduce conducted emissions. Motor capability reaches 1.5 kW, and the inverter bridge can supply 4.1 A at the terminals while delivering up to 2.8 kVA of apparent power. During sudden load changes, the current-monitoring circuit trips if demand exceeds 216% of rated current, helping protect the power semiconductors. Standard operation uses a 4 kHz carrier, which supports stable output control while balancing audible noise and switching loss.
For rapid deceleration duties, a GTR7 braking transistor channels regenerated energy to an external resistor. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, so the unit is intended for installation inside a closed control cabinet. Short bursts up to 180% of rated current are permitted during acceleration, and dynamic response can be increased by selecting the optional 8 kHz maximum switching frequency when thermal margin permits. Two-channel STO inputs shut down the gate drivers without relying on software, and the analog or digital control mode remains available for fast restart after the safety condition is cleared.
