Product Description:
The E3.F5.SDG-34EC is an AC drive module produced by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It installs in a control cabinet between the plant’s three-phase power supply and a servo motor, generating a variable output that supports precise industrial automation. By adjusting voltage, frequency, and current in real time, the module allows a PLC to execute coordinated speed and torque commands across multiple machine axes while keeping auxiliary wiring to a minimum.
The drive accepts a three-phase 400 V AC/DC input, so its rectifier and inverter stages connect directly to standard factory power. Once energized, the control board applies closed-loop field-oriented control, sampling phase currents and rotor position to maintain independent torque and flux control throughout acceleration and load disturbances. Thermal management is handled by water cooling; coolant passages in the housing carry heat away from the power semiconductors and enable full-current operation in compact enclosures. Rapid deceleration is supported by an integrated braking transistor that channels regenerated energy into an external resistor instead of returning it to the power supply. An integrated EMC filter suppresses high-frequency switching noise on the line conductors to limit conducted emissions.
The housing code G footprint matches other F5 modules, allowing shared DC bus bars and coolant manifolds across a multi-axis rack. An integrated safety relay opens the gate drivers when an emergency-stop circuit is triggered, providing a Category 0 stop without external contactors. The inverter includes synchronous motor support, allowing resolver or sine-cosine feedback to close the vector control loop with high position accuracy. The parameter structure and diagnostic functions remain consistent with the Combivert F5 platform, simplifying system configuration and maintenance across a production line.
