Product Description:
The E2.F5.S1D-33EA is an AC axis drive produced by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. The unit operates as a regulated power stage that links a machine controller to a synchronous or induction motor, converting supply energy into controlled voltage and frequency while processing encoder feedback. In automated production lines, the drive regulates torque, speed, and direction so that conveyors, gantries, and positioning tables can follow programmed motion profiles with repeatable accuracy. Its closed-loop operation also allows the controller to compensate for changing loads while maintaining stable motor response during acceleration, steady motion, and deceleration.
The integrated braking transistor has a GTR 7 designation; it routes surplus kinetic energy to external resistors during rapid deceleration and helps prevent DC-bus overvoltage. Incoming power is accepted through a three-phase 400 V AC/DC input, allowing the drive to share a common DC link or operate directly from the mains. Motor regulation is handled by closed-loop field-oriented control, which adjusts stator current in real time to maintain consistent torque across the operating speed range. Under rated conditions, the drive supports a maximum mechanical speed of 3000 rpm. Primary speed feedback is acquired through a resolver connected to encoder channel 1, providing the control system with continuous information about rotor movement. This feedback helps the drive correct speed and position deviations as operating conditions change.
A secondary feedback path is available through the terminal marked incremental output; this interface transmits quadrature pulses to external equipment for synchronized axis operation. Differential line drivers that use RS-422 electrical levels help preserve signal integrity over long cable runs inside the machine. Internal feedback processing is performed on Channel 1, allowing the drive to use the selected encoder information for motor regulation, diagnostics, and tuning. The output pulses can also provide a position reference to connected control equipment without interrupting the primary feedback loop. The drive is built on the Combivert F5 platform, which supports compatible parameter files and fieldbus options within its established housing format. These interfaces allow the axis drive to exchange motion data with surrounding automation equipment while maintaining accurate closed-loop control.
