The C3.F5.S1D-33HC is an axis drive module manufactured by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. The unit converts fixed mains power into variable frequency and voltage for controlled motion, and its closed-loop control maintains speed and position accuracy in industrial handling, packaging, and continuous-process equipment. It interfaces directly with motor feedback devices and higher-level PLCs through integrated signal channels. This arrangement allows the drive to support coordinated axis functions where command updates, feedback processing, and power conversion must work together without interrupting machine operation.
Each of the two differential analog inputs accepts signals from 0 to ±10 VDC, and each channel is converted with 12-bit resolution for stable command tracking. Eight digital inputs are scanned every 1 ms and respond to command levels from 13 to 30 VDC, so switching states are passed quickly to the axis processor. For legacy position interfaces, an emulation output can provide up to 1024 incremental counts per revolution as an encoder-style signal derived from the closed-loop resolver. This is useful when the surrounding control system expects incremental position data instead of raw resolver information. The power stage operates from a three-phase bus rated at 400 VAC/DC, and the internal DC link conditions that input before pulse-width-modulated motor excitation.
Thermal management relies on water cooling, which removes heat directly from the heat sink and supports high output density in compact cabinets. A built-in braking transistor handles regenerative energy during deceleration, reducing the need for separate braking hardware in standard layouts. The module is built in housing size D and uses three supply phases, making it suitable for installation beside similar units on a common DC network. For auxiliary electronics, it provides an internal supply of 24 VDC, 100 mA for low-power control functions. A form-C relay rated at 30 VDC, 1 A can be assigned to status signaling for interlocks or drive-ready indication.
