The C1.F5.S3D-03EA is an axis drive module produced by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It applies closed-loop, field-oriented control to induction or synchronous motors, allowing precise regulation of torque and speed in industrial automation cells. The unit has an integrated braking transistor and EMI filter and relies on a standard heat sink for cooling, so it can be mounted in compact control enclosures without additional cooling equipment. The D-size housing provides mechanical alignment with other F5 modules and supports an orderly arrangement within multi-axis control systems.
The drive accepts a single-phase 230 VAC or 230 VDC input, providing flexibility when only single-phase utility power or a suitable DC source is available. A differential command channel accepts an analog command range of 0 to ±10 VDC, which the internal processor samples every 1 ms. This short sampling interval supports responsive current and speed control during rapid changes in the commanded motion. Pulse-width modulation operates at 16 kHz, reducing audible motor noise while maintaining smooth torque delivery. The control electronics receive power from an auxiliary supply rated at 20 to 30 VDC at 1 A, allowing the control logic to remain active when the main supply is isolated. Resolver feedback is processed internally, while the optional encoder port provides 1,024-increment quadrature signals as a TTL output for downstream controllers. Resolver or encoder cable runs of up to 50 m are supported, helping maintain reliable feedback communication across large machines. A relay contact rated at 30 VDC and 1 A can be programmed to indicate drive-ready or fault status. The built-in overcurrent protection works with the housing-mounted heat sink to keep semiconductor temperatures within safe operating limits during demanding motion cycles.
