The A8.F5.S1A-242A is an axis drive module produced by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. The unit operates from either AC or DC supply lines, is built in housing form factor code A, and has a standard varnish finish that protects internal circuitry against ambient moisture and conductive dust during panel installation.
The power section accepts a 230 V line potential and can be wired for single-phase or three-phase feeds, so the same chassis suits single-phase utility sources as well as three-phase plant mains. Energy from the rectifier is buffered in a DC voltage link, allowing regenerated power to be shared with adjacent inverters or returned to the source. The IGBT bridge switches at 2 kHz, a frequency that balances motor acoustics with semiconductor losses. For dynamic events such as rapid indexing, the drive can supply up to 150% of its rated current for short periods without derating, providing extra acceleration torque before the thermal model reduces the output.
