Product Description:
The A6.F5.S1A-2E2X axis drive is manufactured by KEB as part of the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. This device serves as a compact controller that links a machine’s PLC to the motor power stage, executing real-time current, speed, and position regulation for individual axes. By providing precise torque modulation, it enables coordinated movement in automated assembly cells, conveyors, and packaging systems. Its compact format supports installation in machinery where panel space is limited and each motion axis requires independent control.
Drive regulation is based on closed-loop field-oriented motor control algorithms that use rotor position obtained through the resolver and incremental I/O feedback port. One programmable analog channel is processed at 11-bit resolution, while 5 optically isolated digital inputs accept start, stop, and limit signals. A counter channel tolerates pulse streams up to 500 Hz, so marker tracks can be captured directly. Torque commands can be updated every 250 µs, and the internal scheduler finishes a complete digital and analog sweep in 1 ms, providing predictable reaction times. These control intervals help the drive coordinate motion with neighboring axes on high-speed machinery without delaying command processing.
The power stage accepts a single- or three-phase 230 V AC/DC mains supply, while the logic section is supplied externally so parameters remain available during an emergency stop. Housing form factor code A keeps the enclosure depth to a minimum, and an integrated braking transistor manages surplus kinetic energy during deceleration without requiring a separate braking transistor. The terminal strip provides 17 connection points, including one relay contact for fault signaling and two transistor outputs that share a maximum load of 50 mA. The available connections support command signals, operating status, and motor feedback through a centralized wiring interface. This arrangement allows the drive to function as a self-contained motion node within the Combivert F5 platform while maintaining communication with the machine controller.
