Product Description:
The A4.F5.S3A-2622 is an axis drive manufactured by KEB and assigned to the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It serves as the power and control interface between a motion controller and servo or induction motors, regulating speed, torque, and positioning tasks in industrial automation cells and packaging lines. A braking transistor and EMI filter are installed at the factory, so overvoltage energy is dissipated internally and conducted emissions are reduced without extra components.
The analog command channel accepts reference signals from 0 to ±10 VDC, and these voltages are converted by a 12-bit converter, allowing 4096 discrete setpoints for precise speed trimming. Each new sample is captured after a 1 ms scan, keeping control loops responsive during rapid load changes. Eight control terminals accept switching levels between 13 to 30 VDC; these opto-isolated lines accommodate sensors or PLC outputs and serve as 8 digital inputs that can be mapped to start, jog, or fault-reset functions. A separate 20 to 30 VDC external supply maintains logic and fieldbus communication when the main DC link is de-energized, preventing data loss during maintenance or emergency stops.
The drive also sources a 24 VDC / 100 mA control voltage for encoders or contactors, and its output stage can emulate incremental feedback with 1024 increments to satisfy legacy motion controllers across cable runs up to 50 m. Two transistor outputs sink up to 50 mA DC each for status beacons, while two form-C relays are rated at 30 VDC / 1 A for interlock chains. Housing dimensions measure 185 mm high, 76 mm wide, and 144 mm deep, so multiple units can mount side by side in a 200 mm cabinet bay. Feedback wiring is completed through a 15-pin Sub-D resolver connector, and the module supports two relay outputs and two transistor outputs without additional option cards.
