The 34.F5.A1P-90-D is an axis inverter produced by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. As a high-power member of this platform, the unit converts three-phase mains power into a controlled electrical output for synchronous or induction motors used in heavy industrial automation. This function allows the inverter to coordinate motion on multi-axis machinery.
This drive is designed for a three-phase supply at 400 V AC and can deliver continuous shaft power of 500 kW while supplying a rated motor current of 890 A. During short overload events, it tolerates up to 1112 A without tripping. The switching devices operate at a nominal frequency of 2 kHz, balancing dynamic response with the thermal load on the internal IGBTs. A standard control board governs the torque and speed loops and accepts incremental feedback through an encoder interface that supports TTL-level signals on a D-sub connector. The same logic level is used for the auxiliary signal output, providing a dedicated TTL pulse stream to external counters. A braking transistor is fitted so regenerated energy can be dissipated through an external resistor. A mains choke is mandatory to reduce the line-side harmonics generated by the converter. The housing follows the 2 × P format, providing additional panel depth for large bus capacitors and busbars.
