The 29.F5.A1P-B0-D axis drive is produced by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It operates as a high-capacity inverter that converts DC bus power into regulated AC power for large motors. Closed-loop control allows the drive to regulate motor speed and torque in automated machinery while correcting deviations under changing loads.
The power section supports 250 kW of continuous mechanical output and accepts a line supply of 660/690 V AC. The converter is designed for three-phase AC grids and sustains a thermally rated current of 280 A. Its insulated-gate modules operate at a carrier frequency of 2 kHz. Two analog outputs support proportional feedback, while eight digital inputs handle start, stop, and preset commands. Two digital outputs and two relay outputs return operating status to the controller. The standard control board processes these signals and connects to an incremental TTL encoder through a Sub-D connector, allowing continuous correction of motor position. Auxiliary signal outputs also use TTL levels, which keeps their electrical format consistent with the feedback interface. A built-in braking transistor dissipates dynamic energy during rapid deceleration and helps control vertical loads. The braking stage operates with the inverter switching cycle to reduce thermal stress on the power components.
An IP20 enclosure allows the unit to be mounted inside a ventilated cabinet where finger-safe protection is sufficient. During overload events, the current limit rises to 350 A, providing additional current for short acceleration demands. The carrier frequency can be increased to a maximum of 4 kHz when an application requires lower motor noise. The housing has a height of 960 mm, a width of 340 mm, and a depth of 454 mm. These dimensions provide space for the heat sink and bus capacitors while allowing installation in standard drive columns. The input and output connections are routed through removable terminal strips, which simplify cabinet wiring and provide direct access to the control connections.
