Product Description:
The 28.F5.A1P-90-A is a high-power inverter manufactured by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It serves as the central drive component in automated lines, converting fixed mains energy into controlled three-phase output for induction or synchronous motors. The unit uses a Standard control board and includes an integrated braking transistor that supports regenerative-energy dissipation during rapid deceleration. Motor characteristics can be matched through parameter sets, allowing the drive to regulate speed, control torque, and coordinate positioning in material-handling or continuous-process machinery. Its control architecture supports demanding applications that require stable motor performance during changing loads and repeated operating cycles.
The inverter connects to a three-phase supply at 400 V AC and has a rated current of 370 A. Its nominal switching frequency is 2 kHz, while the internal IGBT bridge can operate at a maximum switching frequency of 4 kHz when faster current control is required. Built-in overload protection activates the overcurrent trip at 150% of rated amperage. Time-based thermal limits also permit an overload of 125% for brief intervals. A required mains choke reduces line-side harmonics and helps the inverter meet the C2 EMC category for industrial installations. The Standard control board provides access to the Combivert parameter structure, allowing vector or sensorless control modes to be adjusted without additional option cards.
The drive has an enclosure protection rating of IP20, so it must be installed inside a ventilated cabinet that prevents contact with internal electrical parts. During acceleration peaks, the inverter can deliver a short-term current of 463 A to support temporary increases in motor torque. Its maximum general-purpose motor rating is 250 HP, making the unit suitable for large industrial motors used in conveyors, processing machinery, and coordinated production equipment. The steel enclosure is 960 mm high, 340 mm wide, and 454 mm deep. These dimensions provide room for power connections and control wiring while allowing the inverter to fit within an appropriately sized floor cabinet. Adequate ventilation and installation clearance are necessary to maintain airflow around the enclosure during continuous operation.
