The 27.F5.A1U-90-A is an AC axis drive produced by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It regulates high-power induction or synchronous motors in automated machinery. The drive converts fixed-frequency mains power into a variable-frequency, variable-voltage output, allowing speed and torque control along a single machine axis. A standard control board manages the inverter gating patterns required to produce the commanded motor output.
This model is designed for three-phase networks operating at 400 V AC and is compatible with 50 Hz and 60 Hz grids. It draws a rated input current of 330 A while supplying a continuous output current of 300 A to the motor terminals. The inverter can deliver up to 208 kVA of apparent power, and its internal IGBTs operate at a rated switching frequency of 2 kHz. Heat is removed through a fan-assisted heat sink to keep the semiconductor junctions within their thermal limits. The housing uses the U form factor and includes a built-in braking transistor, allowing regenerated energy to be dissipated through an external resistor rather than returned to the mains.
