The 22.F5.MBR-95PA is an AC axis drive produced by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It interfaces with a three-phase 400 VAC mains supply and converts that line voltage into a controlled output for motor operation in conveyors, extruders, and servo-based stations. Form factor code R and size code 22 identify its mechanical envelope and cooling path, allowing the correct amount of cabinet space to be reserved. An integrated braking transistor controls the dissipation of regenerated energy, so an external chopper module is not required during fast deceleration.
The drive can operate motors rated up to 75 HP when connected to a 480 V supply. It accepts a regulated input between 305–528 V, allowing it to tolerate common plant voltage fluctuations. Continuous output current reaches 115 A, accompanied by a rated input current of 127 A and apparent power of 80 kVA. Pulse-width modulation is factory-set at 4 kHz, while the fundamental output frequency can be programmed from 0–599 Hz for process control. Reference and setpoint channels include a +10 VDC ±5% source rated at 4 mA and an analog input with a range of 0 to ±10 V, allowing connection to external potentiometers or closed-loop control equipment. The digital inputs respond to signals from 13 to 30 VDC for compatibility with common PLC outputs.
During transient events, the inverter supplies a four-second current burst of 172 A. Protective circuitry trips at 207 A to protect the IGBTs against phase-to-phase faults and excessive current. For applications that require different acoustic or thermal performance, the switching frequency can be increased to a maximum of 16 kHz, providing a choice between lower switching losses and reduced audible motor noise. The three-phase output produces a voltage range from zero to the input voltage across the available speed range and supports vector or V/Hz control. Built-in logic manages the brake chopper and monitors the drive’s protective interlocks during operation.
