The 20.F5.CDR-960A is an AC axis inverter produced by KEB and supplied within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It modulates speed and torque for induction or permanent-magnet machines up to 50 horsepower, giving automated lines closed-loop motion control and coordinated positioning. An internal braking transistor handles regenerative energy, while a dedicated heat-sink cooler removes switching heat so the drive can be mounted in a control cabinet without forced airflow.
On the supply side, the drive accepts a three-phase mains connection at 400 VAC and draws a continuous 83 A under rated load. Its IGBT bridge operates at 8 kHz, providing fine current resolution and reduced motor acoustic noise. The power stage outputs 75 A of RMS current and supplies up to 52 kVA of apparent power, covering constant-torque requirements across the motor’s speed range. An integrated EMC filter limits conducted emissions to surrounding equipment, and the housed braking transistor diverts excess DC-link energy into an external resistor during quick deceleration or overhauling loads.
