Product Description:
The 20.F5.A1H-RP00 is an AC axis drive manufactured by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It converts fixed three-phase mains power into a variable-frequency, variable-voltage output that regulates induction or synchronous motors in conveyors, pumps, and extruders. Acting as the motion interface between a higher-level controller and the machine’s mechanical elements, the unit delivers programmable speed and torque so process parameters remain stable under changing loads. This control capability allows the drive to adjust motor operation as production demands change without interrupting the process.
The electronics are built on a Standard Board, giving the drive the baseline I/O set for analog speed commands, digital run inputs, and fault relays. Connected to a 480-volt, three-phase mains network, the input section supports a nominal supply of 480 V three-phase, allowing direct connection to common industrial feeders. Internal conversion supports operation with a line frequency of 50/60 Hz, enabling use with either frequency without hardware changes. When matched with a motor rated for up to 50 HP, the power stage provides the continuous current needed for loads such as heavy extrusion screws or fan wheels. A built-in braking transistor is prewired to accept an external resistor, allowing controlled deceleration by dissipating regenerated energy rather than returning it to the supply. The available analog and digital connections support integration with external control equipment and machine interlocks.
Input variation is handled by a wide operating range of 305–528 V AC, helping prevent nuisance trips during brownouts or high-line conditions. The output bridge produces a sinusoidal pulse-width-modulated voltage ranging from zero to 528 V, giving the PLC precise control over motor flux throughout the speed range. The inverter has a size code of 20, while the slim housing form factor uses the code H to indicate its cabinet configuration. The narrow housing helps conserve installation space and aligns with standard KEB mounting rails. Because no encoder feedback card is installed, the unit operates in open-loop V/Hz or sensorless vector modes. A separate feedback option may be added when an application requires closed-loop speed or position accuracy.
