It modulates bus voltage so automated machinery can execute precise single-axis moves and coordinated speed regulation on conveyors, feeders, or pick-and-place systems. This arrangement allows the plant controller to issue motion commands while the drive manages the electrical power delivered to the connected motor.
Control references enter the drive through both analog and digital channels. For current-loop signaling, the input accepts 0 to ±20 mA or 4 to 20 mA, allowing PLC transducers to transmit bidirectional or unipolar commands without external shunts. Voltage commands are accepted through a 0 to ±10 V interface, and the 30 kΩ input impedance minimizes loading on remote control cards. The converter samples these values with 12-bit resolution, providing fine position and torque scaling. Logic tasks are triggered by eight digital inputs, and each line has a 2.1 kΩ resistor that limits current. The control electronics scan all inputs every 1 ms to provide a consistent response. The drive can energize sensors directly through a regulated 24 VDC, 100 mA auxiliary rail, while a +10 V reference output at 4 mA supports potentiometer speed controls. System status can actuate external devices through an onboard relay rated at 30 VDC and 1 A. A preinstalled braking transistor dissipates regenerative energy during motor deceleration. The integrated EMI filter reduces conducted electrical noise without requiring additional cabinet hardware.
