The 19.F5.MBH-YV14 is an AC axis drive produced by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. Designed for closed-loop, field-oriented control of induction motors, it forms the interface between the plant’s three-phase supply and the mechanical load, generating the variable-frequency and torque commands required for conveyors, winders, and coordinated servo axes. The drive integrates with higher-level PLCs to execute position, speed, and torque loops while providing internal energy handling during braking events.
Within the 400 V voltage class, inverter size code 19 and housing form factor H indicate the mechanical frame and cooling channel that support the drive’s electrical limits. It supplies a rated output of 42 kVA and a steady-state phase current of 60 A, enabling operation with motors rated up to 40 HP on a 230 V connection or direct 400 V machines of similar power. An integrated brake transistor can direct regenerative energy through an external resistor with a minimum resistance of 13 Ω. During dynamic stops, the internal gate drive permits a peak braking current of 63 A without triggering the 90 °C heat sink alarm. The terminal block accepts motor leads with conductor sizes up to 25 mm². Installation is permitted at altitudes up to 2000 m, where the ambient air density can still support the required thermal path.
Transient demands are accommodated by a short-term current capability of 90 A, giving the system additional capacity for acceleration bursts above the continuous rating. Protective logic signals an overcurrent condition at 108 A. This threshold disconnects the output stage before electrical stress exceeds safe operating limits. The housing has an ingress protection rating of IP20, so the unit must be installed in a clean electrical cabinet with forced convection suitable for the installation altitude. Built-in thermal sensors provide temperature data to the controller. These sensors coordinate output derating when the drive is dissipating regenerative energy or when cooling airflow decreases.
