Product Description:
The 18.F5.DBG-YVXF axis drive module is manufactured by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It functions as a variable-frequency inverter that delivers closed-loop speed and torque regulation for one motorized axis, allowing conveyors, gantries, and process machinery to match motor output to real-time load conditions. An integrated encoder interface and digital I/O allow the drive to exchange position data and status signals with motion controllers so that coordinated moves and precise stops can be executed in automated production lines.
The power stage supports a rated output current of 50 A, so cabinet fusing and cabling must accommodate that continuous load. Nominal shaft power reaches 22 kW, providing capacity for machinery with substantial power requirements. The drive operates within the 400 V voltage class. Size code 18 and housing form factor G indicate the mechanical footprint, while an enclosure rating of IP20 indicates protection against finger contact and requires installation in a clean electrical cabinet. Conducted emissions are limited to EMC class C1, allowing installation on low-voltage public networks when proper filtering is added. A Hiperface port accepts incremental or absolute feedback, and the auxiliary signal output provides TTL-level pulses for external counters or diagnostic devices.
The drive can operate at temperatures from -10 °C to 45 °C without derating. The electronics can be stored safely between -25 °C and 70 °C. An earth-fault monitor immediately trips the inverter if leakage paths form, and a dedicated short-circuit monitor disconnects the output stage during phase-to-phase faults to protect the drive and motor. Continuous status streaming over the Hiperface channel supports encoder integrity checks, while the TTL auxiliary output can be routed to a high-speed logic analyzer for real-time speed validation.
