Product Description:
The 18.F5.A1H-36MF is an axis drive module made by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. As an inverter-based controller, it supplies variable frequency and voltage to compatible three-phase motors, allowing automated machines to regulate speed, torque, and position from a single compact housing. The unit integrates with feedback devices and I/O connections, enabling closed-loop motion control in conveyors, handling cells, and material-forming equipment.
The drive connects to a plant power supply through a three-phase topology and belongs to the 400 V AC/DC class, so it can be wired directly to common 400 V networks without an autotransformer. Its internal power electronics switch at 8 kHz, and the separate analog input path samples at 1 ms with 12-bit resolution and an impedance of 30 kΩ to limit loading on control sources. A 10 V DC reference with a tolerance of ±5% is available for external potentiometers. Two digital input channels have a response time of 1 ms and use 2.1 kΩ pull-up resistors to accept fast command signals. The module uses an H-size enclosure with size code 18, delivers up to 30 HP at 480 V, and includes a standard control board with a Hiperface encoder port for absolute position feedback.
Short-duration overloads are supported by a peak phase current of 150% of the rated current, while the hardware overcurrent protection trips at 180% of the rated current to protect the IGBTs and integrated braking transistor. A PWM carrier frequency of 3.4 kHz helps reduce motor noise and supports flux-oriented control. The TTL auxiliary outputs can source a combined total of 50 mA DC. A dedicated 24 V auxiliary bus supplies up to 100 mA for connected sensors. The analog output has 10-bit resolution and a source impedance of 100 Ω, allowing it to transmit process variables to a PLC.
