Product Description:
The 17.F5.M1G-35GA is an axis inverter manufactured by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. Designed for cabinet installation, the unit interfaces with 3-phase 400 V mains and integrates a braking transistor, enabling dynamic deceleration of synchronous or induction machines. With an inverter size code 17 and housing form factor G, it fits mid-range panels and is suitable for material-handling lines, packaging stations, and other automation cells that require precise speed and torque regulation. It is intended for enclosed drive systems where coordinated motor control and stable braking performance are required during repeated starts and stops.
In heavy-duty motion cycles, the drive supplies a rated current of 42 A and can deliver a peak of 63 A for brief overloads. It tolerates mains from 305–528 V AC, and its programmable switching frequency of 4/16 kHz allows a balance between acoustic noise and switching losses. The integral braking transistor dissipates regenerated energy without external choppers. A 30 VDC / 1 A relay and a 50 mA digital output provide low-power signaling, and two encoder inputs let the controller close speed or position loops with incremental or absolute feedback. The specified I/O scan time of 1 ms helps keep the axis synchronized with high-speed PLC tasks.
Command functions are handled by a 24 V DC external control supply that isolates logic from the power bus. The drive provides 5 digital inputs rated for 13–30 V DC, along with a pair of analog channels spanning 0 to ±10 V and offering an effective resolution of 11-bit. For motion profiling, it also accepts a 500 Hz counter reference. These interfaces allow the inverter to process enable signals, reference values, and feedback-related commands within the same control section. At full capacity, the unit can energize motors up to 25 HP. The control and power functions are integrated into housing form factor G on the size-17 platform.
