Product Description:
The 17.F5.M1G-35DA is an AC inverter produced by KEB and supplied within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency three-phase mains into a variable voltage and frequency output so industrial controllers can regulate motor speed, torque, and position. Typical tasks include conveyor lines, extruders, and synchronized gantries where precise velocity profiles and fast stops are required. By varying output frequency and voltage together, it can match motor behavior to changing process demand while supporting controlled acceleration and deceleration. When the unit is installed inside a control cabinet, it exchanges commands and status over serial or CAN networks and directs regenerated energy to a braking resistor during rapid deceleration.
Rated to supply motors up to 25 HP, the inverter belongs to size code 17, which sets the heat-sink length and terminal cross-section. The housing uses form factor G, so the mounting points and airflow paths match the deeper chassis used in higher-current frames. An integrated braking transistor is factory installed, and this switch diverts regenerated energy to an external resistor to keep the DC bus within limits during deceleration. Local control is provided by the front-mounted LCD operator with serial/CAN interface, allowing parameter entry, fault readout, and peak-output display. The display also shows active status messages directly on the drive face.
Code D incorporates reinforced gate drivers and protective fusing for heavy-cycle applications. In the 230 V range, this model is listed under rating Unit B, which sets conductor cross-sections and external protection devices. The drive uses the parameter structure of the Combivert F5 platform, so settings can be transferred through memory modules or fieldbus commands. That arrangement is useful when multiple axes use similar motion profiles and communication settings. Diagnostic access and application setup are supported by the DriveGUI suite.
