The 17.F5.CBG-YM00 is an inverter drive manufactured by KEB and supplied within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. Designed to modulate three-phase induction motors in automated machinery, the unit converts the fixed 400 V mains supply into variable-voltage and variable-frequency output for speed and torque control. By integrating the control electronics, power stage, and an internal braking circuit in a compact frame, the drive provides centralized regulation of a single axis in packaging lines, material-handling systems, or process equipment.
The drive accepts a three-phase supply at 400 V and draws a continuous input current of 55 A under nominal load. At the output terminals, it delivers 42 A, corresponding to an apparent power of 29 kVA for motors rated up to 25 hp. Its IGBT bridge switches at 4 kHz, balancing thermal stress with acceptable acoustic noise. In constant-torque applications, the inverter can operate motors down to a minimum full-load frequency of 3 Hz without losing regulation. Short-circuit protection is provided by an overcurrent trip that activates when the phase current reaches 75 A. This protective response interrupts operation before excessive current can damage the inverter or connected motor.
