Product Description:
The 17.F5.C1G-350D is a variable-frequency axis drive from KEB’s F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. The unit converts a fixed industrial supply into a controlled output that manages torque, speed, and position for connected AC machines in multi-axis systems. Built on KEB’s size-17 power stage and G-form housing, it mounts in convection-cooled enclosures where a varnished coating shields the electronics from dust and moisture. Within an automation cell, the drive connects to PLC command layers and feedback devices to run indexing, winding, or coordinated transport tasks.
It draws power from a 3-phase 400 V AC/DC bus and can energize motors up to 25 HP on that line or on a 230 V feeder of the same power class. During transient load spikes, the output bridge allows 150% short-term current, and an overcurrent trip activates at 180% to protect the semiconductors. A factory-installed GTR7 braking transistor dissipates regenerated energy through an external resistor, preventing DC-link overvoltage during rapid deceleration. The IGBT section switches at 4 kHz, balancing acoustic noise with harmonic distortion. Heat leaves the assembly through varnished convection surfaces, and the G housing keeps dimensions consistent across the size-17 inverter platform.
Control connectivity includes two differential analog inputs with 12-bit resolution, two analog outputs, and 8 programmable digital inputs. The drive also provides two transistor outputs limited to a total of 50 mA and two relay contacts rated at 30 VDC and 1 A. The internal processor scans this input and output map every 2 ms for a deterministic response. Both the auxiliary signal channel and the incremental encoder interface operate at TTL levels through a D-sub connector, allowing direct connections to standard sensors. These resources allow the drive to handle positioning, status signaling, and brake control without additional expansion cards.
