Product Description:
KEB’s F5 Combivert Axis Drives series includes the industrial inverter 17.F5.A1G-Y0BA. This unit is an AC variable-speed axis drive that connects plant power to asynchronous or synchronous motors, modulating energy so automated equipment follows precise speed and torque commands. The drive can integrate with motion controllers over serial or CAN networks and supply regulated power for mid-range machine tools, conveying lines, and packaging stations.
The drive accepts a three-phase supply at 400 V AC or a rectified AC/DC supply. Power is routed through a Standard Board control core that supervises an installed GTR 7 braking transistor. Inside the varnished cooling channel, the IGBTs switch the bus at a carrier frequency of 3.4 kHz, while the control logic refreshes digital inputs every 1 ms with an input resistance of 2.1 kΩ. The analog command inputs provide 12-bit resolution, while the feedback outputs provide 10-bit resolution for smooth speed references through the resolver and initiator encoder interface. An LCD operator panel with serial and CAN ports provides parameter access, and an automatic trip threshold of 150% of rated current prevents sustained overloads.
The size code 17 and housing form factor G allow the inverter to fit in space-limited panels while driving motors rated up to 25 HP. The unit supports a 400 V configuration, while the B power configuration provides 230 V operation. During rapid acceleration, the short-term current limit is 125% of rated current, and a separate protection range permits momentary peaks before the overcurrent logic responds. The pulse-group switching stage operates at 2 kHz, while a reference channel supplies +10 VDC at 4 mA for external potentiometers. The transistor outputs provide a total of 50 mA DC. Field wiring can also use the 24 V auxiliary bus, which supplies 100 mA for sensors and supports the resolver feedback loop without an additional power supply.
