The 16.F5.C1G-360A is an AC inverter axis drive produced by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. The unit converts fixed mains power into variable voltage and frequency so that asynchronous or synchronous motors can follow speed and torque commands in conveyors, winders, and coordinated motion systems. By combining vector control with extensive I/O, it delivers the closed-loop regulation needed in industrial automation cells where multiple axes must maintain precise electronic gearing and positioning.
To integrate with common plant supplies, the drive accepts a three-phase 400 V AC/DC supply and can energize machinery demanding up to 20 HP. Pulse-width modulation is generated at a switching rate of 8 kHz, and the output frequency is adjustable from zero to 800 Hz, covering both low-speed torque loads and high-speed spindles. Discrete and analog events are refreshed every 2 ms through the internal scan, so counters, PID loops, and fault supervision remain current. Two analog inputs, two analog outputs, eight digital inputs, two relay contacts, two transistor outputs, and 29 control terminals allow direct connection of sensors, brakes, and contactors without a separate PLC.
Process surges are handled by a current reserve of 150%, while an overcurrent trip at 180% protects the power stage and cabling. A built-in braking transistor works with the GTR7 chopper to dissipate regenerated energy during rapid deceleration. Input logic can be wired as PNP/NPN, simplifying retrofits that reuse existing harnesses. The voltage command path spans ±10 V, and additional current ranges of ±20 mA or 4 to 20 mA are selectable for process control links. Eight parameter sets allow one inverter to accommodate different load profiles across a multi-axis installation.
