Product Description:
The 15.F5.M1E.35G0 is an axis drive produced by KEB for industrial motor control. It converts incoming power into a regulated three-phase output for compatible induction machines. Vector control allows the inverter to adjust motor torque and speed as operating demands change. Within an automation cell, the drive can receive commands from a central PLC so conveyors, pumps, and positioning axes follow programmed motion profiles. The controlled output also supports gradual acceleration and deceleration, reducing mechanical stress on connected equipment.
The drive uses closed-loop field-oriented control to regulate stator current in real time and maintain rotor flux as the load changes. It is rated for motors up to 15 HP in general-purpose applications. An integrated braking transistor directs regenerated energy to an external braking resistor during rapid deceleration, helping prevent excessive DC-bus voltage. Mechanical mounting is based on housing code E, which provides an enclosure depth compatible with other F5 units that use the same outline. The electronics are built around inverter size code 15, which establishes the heat-sink length, terminal spacing, and airflow arrangement required for the assigned current. When connected to a 230 V supply using Unit B wiring, the drive retains the same physical frame used for corresponding 460 V panel layouts. This common enclosure profile helps maintain consistent mounting clearances and cable-routing space across supported supply arrangements.
The product carries the Combivert F5 designation and provides control functions intended for coordinated industrial motion. Its control board has no encoder feedback card, so speed estimation relies on the motor model and DC-link measurements rather than pulse-train position signals. This arrangement supports operation with an induction motor that does not have a tachometer or shaft-mounted encoder. The controller calculates slip and adjusts the output current according to the programmed motor parameters and measured electrical conditions. Expansion space within the enclosure can accommodate a compatible resolver or incremental encoder interface when direct shaft feedback is required for a particular application.
