The 15.F5.EBG-Y00A is an axis drive module produced by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It functions as a three-phase inverter that converts fixed line power into variable-frequency, variable-voltage output. This conversion allows a PLC to regulate the speed and torque of asynchronous or synchronous motors used on conveyors, pumps, and coordinated machine axes.
This drive connects to a plant supply of 400 V AC and accepts an input range of 305 to 528 V at 50 or 60 Hz with a tolerance of ±2 Hz. It draws a nominal current of 31 A, and an upstream 35 A main fuse protects the line side. The internal DC link operates from 420 to 720 VDC. Size code 15 and housing form factor G establish the mechanical footprint shared across the Combivert family. The inverter can deliver up to 15 HP to a motor when supplied with 400 V. At the output, it supplies 17 kVA of apparent power and supports frequencies from 0 to 599 Hz, providing a broad motor-speed range. The phase voltage is proportionally synthesized from zero to the incoming line voltage across all three phases. A motor cable with a cross-sectional area of 6 mm² is required. The heat sink may reach 90 °C during continuous full-load operation, so the cabinet must provide sufficient airflow to manage the resulting heat.
The rated motor current at the terminals is 24 A. A dynamic braking channel can momentarily absorb up to 21 A of regenerative current when paired with an external resistor rated at no less than 39 Ω. This braking arrangement dissipates energy returned by the motor during rapid deceleration and helps prevent excessive DC-link voltage. The integrated filter permits motor leads up to 100 m without exceeding allowable voltage-drop or electromagnetic compatibility limits. This cable allowance supports the placement of remote motors on gantries or long conveyors while keeping the drive in a centralized control cabinet.
