Product Description:
The 15.F5.CBG-YM00 is an axis drive module produced by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. This compact inverter regulates the speed and torque of three-phase induction or synchronous motors rated up to 15 horsepower in automated machinery such as conveyors, winders, and positioning axes. By converting fixed-frequency mains power into a variable-frequency output, the unit supports closed-loop motor control for accurate process sequencing and efficient power delivery in industrial automation cells. Its compact design allows installation in control cabinets where available panel space is limited.
Incoming power is accepted from a three-phase supply designed for 400 V networks, and the drive draws a rated 31 A from this source. Internally, the inverter can deliver 24 A of continuous current to the motor terminals, corresponding to a sustained apparent power of 17 kVA. The output frequency ranges from zero to 599 Hz, allowing the drive to operate high-speed spindles and other demanding motor applications. The control electronics use a compact topology, while form factor code G indicates the enclosure size used for panel installation. Cooling is provided by a standard air-channel design that directs airflow through the drive. The unit does not include an encoder feedback card, allowing operation with open-loop control or an external feedback arrangement. Inverter size code 15 and the GTR7 brake option support compatible KEB braking equipment for controlled dynamic stopping. A minimum braking resistance of 39 ohms protects the brake chopper from excessive dissipation during deceleration.
The power section can momentarily absorb regenerative current up to 21 A, provided that the main fuse does not exceed 35 A for line protection. The thermal design permits operation until the heat sink reaches 90 °C, after which output derating is required to keep internal components within their operating limits. Motor leads may extend up to 100 m without exceeding the drive’s switching limits, allowing the control cabinet to be installed at a substantial distance from the connected actuator. Proper cable selection and routing help control voltage stress and electromagnetic interference over longer motor connections.
