Product Description:
KEB’s 15.F5.CBE-YA00 is a closed-loop inverter module in the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. In machine cells, it governs a single AC motor by converting the three-phase line supply into a variable voltage and frequency output so that speed, torque, and position can match process demands. By integrating gating logic, protection functions, and fieldbus-friendly terminal strips, the unit serves as a compact motion element for conveyors, packaging axes, and similar automation tasks.
The drive’s two differential analog channels accept command signals from 0 to ±10 V, and each channel is sampled with 12-bit resolution for precise setpoint tracking. Eight opto-isolated digital inputs accommodate either PNP or NPN wiring conventions and tolerate control voltages from 13–30 V DC, while 29 screw terminals route the I/O to PLCs or safety relays. Input states refresh every 2 ms, allowing tight following of high-speed position loops, while the IGBT bridge modulates the output at 8 kHz to reduce current ripple. Two changeover relay contacts rated at 30 VDC and 1 A report drive status to external interlocks. Because no encoder feedback card is installed, feedback must be provided through the main control bus.
On the power side, the inverter operates from a 400 V AC mains supply or a compatible rectified DC link and is sized to run induction or synchronous machines up to 15 HP. During start-up or regenerative braking, the drive can supply a short-term current boost, and the instantaneous overcurrent trip activates at 216% to protect the output stage. The hardware uses inverter size code 15 and fits the E housing format, so mounting holes align with standardized panels and air moves through the standard cooling path without auxiliary fans. A short-time current reserve of 180% supports rapid load changes without immediate derating.
