In automated machinery, the unit sits between the mains supply and the motor, converting DC-link energy into a pulse-width-modulated output while also providing low-level control signals and protective switching for brakes and relays.
The drive is sized for motors drawing no more than 15 HP, so a single unit can cover moderate conveyors, pumps, or gantry axes. Its differential analog interface accepts command signals within ±10 VDC, letting a PLC transmit velocity or torque references directly. Those references are digitized at 11-bit resolution, establishing 2048 discrete steps for closed-loop regulation. Every new sample is captured after only 2 ms, which aligns the controller’s reaction time with fast machine cycles.
