Internal Product Review
The 15.F5.B3E-Y002 is a KEB F5 Combivert axis drive with water-cooled construction and 15 HP motor capacity. 400 V AC or AC/DC input compatibility and an integrated braking transistor with EMI filter make the drive especially attractive for demanding motion-control panels. A 2 ms I/O scan time supports crisp response, and the 800 Hz maximum output frequency is a standout performance spec.

Product Description:
The 15.F5.B3E-Y002 is an axis inverter drive manufactured by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It converts the plant’s three-phase mains into variable voltage and frequency so connected motors can be started, stopped, or torque-controlled from a PLC. The unit suits multi-axis packaging, printing, and material-handling lines where motor speed must follow process demands while the electronics stay compact inside a control cabinet.
Control resources include an analog reference span of 0 to ±10 V, five digital inputs, and two relay outputs for status signaling. The inverter is powered from a three-phase 400 V AC supply or a compatible DC link. It can produce a maximum fundamental frequency of 800 Hz by chopping the DC bus at 2 kHz. Commands and feedback are refreshed every 2 ms, matching the I/O scan time used for fieldbus integration. Eight selectable parameter sets support switching between machine recipes, and the built-in braking transistor with an EMI filter manages regenerated energy while limiting conducted noise. Protection is provided by an overcurrent trip that activates at 150 percent of rated output, and a counter input processes position or speed pulses up to 250 Hz when external feedback modules are fitted.
The power section uses water-cooled operation, a design linked to housing form factor code E and inverter size code 15 that removes heat without large heat sinks. At 400 V, the unit drives motors up to 15 HP, and the same output class also applies when it feeds 230 V machines classified as Unit B. For brief acceleration events, the output can rise to 125% of nominal current before protective cutoff. Control electronics and external sensors are supplied from an isolated 24 V DC bus, and no encoder interface is embedded, so closed-loop operation requires an optional feedback card.
