Product Description:
The 15.F5.B1E-Y001 is an AC axis drive manufactured by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It functions as a power stage that modulates voltage and current to control induction or synchronous motors in automated conveyor lines, packaging machinery, and material-handling cells. By integrating a braking transistor and flat-rear cooling, the unit is intended for cabinet installation where excess regenerative energy must be dissipated and rear heat sinking is practical.
The drive connects to a three-phase mains supply at 400 V and draws a nominal line current of 31 A. Internally, it switches at a carrier frequency of 2 kHz and converts the DC link into a pulse-width-modulated output rated for 24 A that delivers up to 17 kVA of apparent power to the motor terminals. During rapid acceleration, the control electronics permit momentary overload up to a 125 % peak current limit, while an integrated brake transistor channels excess DC energy through an external resistor no lower than 39 Ω. Protective coordination with a 35 A mains fuse and an over-current trip threshold at 150% of rated output help preserve semiconductor integrity under fault or short-circuit conditions.
The inverter is sized for motors that use up to 2 kHz carrier operation and produce as much as 15 HP on a 400 V network. An IP20 housing shields internal boards from incidental contact and settled dust, and this rating assumes installation inside a closed control cabinet with forced airflow. No encoder interface is included, so the application must rely on sensorless vector or V/Hz control. The over-current trip margin of 150 % is the instantaneous fault cutoff before hard shutdown. Flat-rear cooling plates, a 21 A maximum braking current path, and housing form factor E allow the drive to fit standardized backplane layouts without external heat sinks.
