Product Description:
The 15.F5.MBE-YUQW is an axis inverter drive produced by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It delivers closed-loop, field-oriented control for induction motors, allowing torque and magnetic flux to be adjusted continuously in response to motion commands from a PLC or CNC. Form factor code E indicates the housing outline, while inverter size code 15 identifies the heat sink and semiconductor stack used for this power class. The resulting housing arrangement allows the device to fit standard Combivert F5 panels without requiring changes to the established mounting layout or electrical connections.
The drive supplies up to 11 kW of continuous motor output and supports motors with a rated current of 24 A. During acceleration or rapid load changes, it can deliver a peak current of 36 A for short periods. The input section accepts a three-phase supply of 400 V AC and can also operate from a shared DC link, making the unit suitable for regenerative multi-axis systems. The maximum supported motor power is 15 HP. Field-oriented control adjusts the phase currents to keep the stator field aligned with the measured rotor position. This control method provides responsive torque regulation during speed changes and varying mechanical loads.
The drive provides two encoder channels for motor feedback and position monitoring. The primary feedback port uses a D-Sub 15-pin connector and accepts EnDat absolute encoders for high-resolution position data. A secondary channel uses a D-Sub 9-pin connector and reads incremental signals through a TTL input. This secondary input allows the drive to process speed and position signals from motors equipped with compatible incremental encoders. It can also receive an additional pulse train when the control system requires separate motion monitoring. Both channels supply shaft-position information to the control logic, allowing the inverter to maintain accurate closed-loop regulation throughout acceleration, steady-speed operation, and deceleration.
