Product Description:
The 15.F5.M1E-35MA is an inverter module manufactured by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It applies closed-loop, field-oriented control to induction motors, providing precise speed and torque regulation in automated production lines and material-handling cells. By linking to higher-level PLCs, the drive converts fixed-frequency, three-phase mains power into a variable output that matches instantaneous load demands, making it suitable as the central axis drive in multi-motor installations.
The unit operates with motors connected to a three-phase 400 V supply. Continuous output reaches 11 kW at a rated current of 24 A, while the power stage can furnish up to 36 A for transient loads. The circuitry has an enclosure rating of IP20, providing protection against finger contact during cabinet assembly. Fast current modulation is enabled by a maximum carrier frequency of 16 kHz. Standard operation uses 4 kHz to balance switching losses and audible noise. A factory-installed braking transistor allows excess DC-bus energy to be dissipated during rapid deceleration.
The control section samples reference signals with 12-bit resolution and retransmits process values with 10-bit resolution, providing adequate fidelity for analog loops. Sin/Cos feedback arrives through a 15-pin D-Sub connector, while a 9-pin TTL port passes encoder data to downstream devices. During overload events, the inverter sustains 150% of rated current for short periods and trips at 180%, protecting both the motor and drive. The housing uses form factor E and inverter size code 15. Its cabinet dimensions are 130 mm wide, 208 mm deep, and 290 mm high. Motor coverage extends to 15 HP on a 400 V line and remains 15 HP when the inverter operates as Unit B on a 230 V supply, allowing the drive to support multiple voltage classes.
