Product Description:
The 15.F5.L1E-350A is an AC inverter drive manufactured by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. Intended for industrial automation, it governs a connected asynchronous motor by modulating voltage and frequency, allowing precise speed control in packaging, material-handling, and process equipment. The compact chassis mounts inside a control cabinet, where it can be connected to the power supply, motor, braking components, and control system. Its variable-frequency output allows the motor speed to follow process requirements without relying on mechanical speed-control devices.
The drive accepts a three-phase mains supply of 400 V and distributes power through a three-phase output bridge rated for a continuous current of 24 A. At this current, the inverter can deliver a rated motor output of 11 kW. For dynamic applications that require faster switching performance, the IGBTs can operate at up to 16 kHz, while a nominal carrier frequency of 4 kHz balances acoustic noise and thermal loading. Internal motor-flux calculations support vector control without an external encoder, allowing the unit to regulate motor torque across changing load conditions. An integrated braking transistor manages regenerated energy during rapid deceleration and helps prevent excessive voltage in the DC link. This braking function is useful on machinery with frequent stops, reversing movements, or loads that return energy to the drive.
The enclosure measures 130 mm wide, 290 mm high, and 208 mm deep, with these dimensions corresponding to housing size E. Its IP20 enclosure is intended for installation inside a control cabinet and protects against accidental contact with internal components. Heavy-load startup and acceleration events are supported by a maximum output current of 43 A. An internal safety circuit provides a safe torque off function that prevents the drive from producing motor torque when the safety input is activated. The drive uses encoderless feedback with asynchronous motors, reducing the need for motor-mounted feedback hardware and its associated signal wiring. Cabinet ventilation must provide sufficient airflow around the chassis to remove heat generated by the inverter during continuous operation.
