Product Description:
The 15.F5.C1E-Y00A drive is produced by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. This inverter controls asynchronous or synchronous motors in factory production lines that require programmable speed and torque. It uses the manufacturer’s E housing form factor, allowing the frame to fit directly into standard switchgear rows without additional brackets. A standard varnish protects the electronics, while the cooling arrangement works with cabinet airflow to maintain acceptable operating temperatures.
Two differential analog inputs are digitized at a 12-bit resolution, and their values reach the control loop within an I/O scan time of 2 ms. Eight digital inputs, two analog outputs, and 29 control terminals give the PLC multiple ways to start, stop, or adjust motor speed. No encoder interface is provided, making the drive suitable for open-loop motor control. The unit draws power from a 400 V AC supply or an equivalent rectified bus through its C1E input section. The inverter size code 15 pairs that supply with a continuous output current of 24 A. A switching frequency of 2 kHz produces pulse-width-modulated output voltage while keeping carrier losses moderate. When connected to a 230 V network, the same power section can deliver up to 15 HP.
A factory-installed GTR7 braking transistor dissipates regenerated energy, eliminating the need for an external braking chopper. The internal logic rail is powered by an isolated supply rated at 24 V DC. During short acceleration periods, the output current can rise to 125% of the nominal current, providing additional torque for demanding starts. An overcurrent trip activates at 150% of the nominal current to protect the output stage from excessive electrical loading. The absence of an encoder reduces control wiring for open-loop pumps, fans, and similar applications that regulate motor operation through calculated speed and slip values.
