Product Description:
The 15.F5.B1G-360A is an axis inverter produced by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. The unit uses BASIC open-loop flux vector control to regulate motor speed and torque in industrial automation systems. It connects directly to the main power supply and can coordinate conveyor sections, pumps, and other motor-driven equipment in packaging and assembly lines. Its control method is suitable for applications that do not require position or velocity feedback from the motor.
Input power is supplied through a three-phase 400 V AC/DC connection, and the internal control loop refreshes every 2 ms to maintain stable motor regulation. The IGBTs operate with an 8 kHz carrier frequency to produce the commanded output waveform. The inverter supports motors rated up to 15 HP, and the same power rating applies to Unit B when operated at 230 V. Its control interface includes one analog input, five digital inputs, and two relay outputs connected through 17 terminals for field wiring. Eight independent parameter sets retain motor and process settings, allowing the drive to operate with different machine configurations. A braking transistor works with the GTR7 chopper to manage regenerative energy produced during motor deceleration. The IP20 housing protects against accidental contact with internal components and is intended for installation inside a suitable control cabinet. The drive does not include an encoder interface, which is consistent with its feedback-free control arrangement.
The drive tolerates fault surges up to 180% of rated current before an overcurrent trip occurs. It can also provide 150% of nominal output for short-duration demands, supplying additional current for acceleration and temporary load peaks. Mechanical installation follows housing form factor code G, with dimensions of 170 mm wide, 255 mm deep, and 340 mm high. Inverter size code 15 establishes the unit’s mounting footprint within an F5 cabinet arrangement. Sensors, switches, and interlocks can connect directly to the available control inputs and relay outputs. Stored operating data can be selected when process requirements change, while the open-loop design reduces the number of external feedback components needed for speed-controlled machinery.
