The 14.F5.C1D-380A is an AC axis drive manufactured by KEB as part of the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. The unit operates as a field-oriented inverter that conditions the fixed AC supply and delivers variable voltage and frequency to a connected motor. In automated conveyor lines, packaging stations, or process pumps, the drive supplies the commanded torque profile while also passing diagnostic and status signals to the supervisory controller. Its design follows the modular structure used across the Combivert platform, allowing standardized wiring and parameter sets to be used across multiple axes.
Control references enter through Analog Input 1, which accepts 0…±10 VDC, while the six opto-isolated control terminals recognize logic levels between 13…30 VDC. The drive electronics can be powered by an external 24 V rail, with a specified supply window of 20–30 VDC at 1 A. Internally, a 650 µF DC-link capacitor smooths the rectified bus that is fed from the plant's 400 V AC supply. Under rated conditions, the output section delivers 16.5 A, corresponding to 11 kVA of apparent power, and it can be modulated at carrier frequencies selectable from a nominal 2 kHz up to 2/16 kHz. During rapid deceleration, the integrated braking transistor diverts excess energy to an external resistor, preventing overvoltage trips in the shared intermediate circuit. Programmable relay contacts rated at 30 VDC / 1 A provide galvanically isolated status feedback to safety interlocks or PLC inputs. Mechanical interchangeability inside a cabinet is aided by housing code 14, which matches the outline and drilling pattern used for this inverter size.
