Product Description:
The 14.F5.MDE-Y0P0 is an axis drive module produced by KEB and included in the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. Designed for multi-motor installations on production machinery, the unit converts fixed-frequency mains power into regulated three-phase output so that servo or induction motors can accelerate, decelerate, and hold commanded speeds under closed-loop control. Its interface portfolio links motion controllers, PLCs, and process sensors for coordinated torque, position, and speed control. Because the power stage regulates output frequency and voltage, the module can adapt motor operation to process demand instead of running at a single fixed speed. This makes the drive suitable for packaging lines, material-handling systems, and other automated equipment that depends on stable motor response during changing load conditions.
In the I/O section, the analog channel samples command voltages with 12-bit resolution and completes each conversion in 1 ms, providing the response needed for dynamic speed regulation. The drive reproduces these references through a DAC that is buffered by a 178 Hz low-pass filter, and the resulting waveform is modulated at 3.4 kHz PWM. That signal is delivered through a source impedance of 100 ohms, which helps maintain stable transmission to external indicators. The analog setpoint input expects a 55 kOhm load impedance, while the digital inputs present 2.1 kOhm resistance and use the same scan cycle for synchronized signal handling. The reference output can source up to 4 mA for potentiometers or similar feedback circuits.
Motor capacity is limited to 10 HP when the inverter operates from a 230-volt network, matching the general power limit of the A1 internal input circuit. The unit uses inverter size code 14 and housing form factor E, which fits the standard Combivert mounting grid. Relay contacts on the control board can switch up to 1 A at 30 VDC, providing an isolated path for brakes, contactors, or status lamps. Control logic is classified as Multi, and the unit does not include an encoder feedback card, so any position loop must be closed by external control hardware. This arrangement suits applications where feedback processing is handled outside the drive.
