Product Description:

The 14.F5.CBD-YM00 is an axis inverter built by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It operates as a compact AC drive that modulates three-phase power to control induction or synchronous motors in automated machinery. The unit regulates motor speed, manages controlled deceleration, and supports coordinated motion through an integrated brake transistor. Because an encoder feedback card is not installed, the inverter relies on open-loop control and the motor’s operating characteristics for speed regulation.

The power section connects to a three-phase 400 VAC industrial supply and draws a rated line current of 23 A. It delivers a continuous motor output current of 16.5 A, corresponding to 11 kVA of apparent power under nominal operating conditions. Circuit protection permits a maximum mains fuse of 25 A, and the drive accepts gG fuses for supply-side protection. Housing type D contains the size 14 inverter frame and its compact control board, allowing the unit to fit in multi-axis cabinets with limited installation space. The general rating and the separate 230 V Unit B rating each list a motor capacity of 10 hp. Full-load operation begins at a minimum output frequency of 6 Hz, helping maintain sufficient motor ventilation at continuous load. The brake transistor connects to an external braking resistor with a minimum resistance of 56 Ω to manage regenerated energy during deceleration.

During a temporary overload, the motor current may rise to 29.7 A without immediately interrupting operation. Dynamic braking current can reach 15 A as regenerated energy passes through the connected external resistor network. The thermal design permits the heat sink surface to reach 90 °C before temperature-related derating is required. An overcurrent trip activates at 35.6 A to protect the output transistors from excessive electrical stress. Short-time current limiting and thermal monitoring protect the power stage during acceleration, deceleration, or abrupt load changes while allowing the inverter to continue controlling the connected motor within its permitted operating range.
