Product Description:

The 14.F5.EBD-Y005 axis inverter is built by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It serves as a sensorless closed-loop controller that converts fixed mains energy into variable-frequency power for mid-frame induction or permanent-magnet motors used in conveying, packaging, and general machinery. Speed is monitored through a calculated actual-value algorithm, allowing accurate regulation without external encoders and reducing wiring requirements in control cabinets.

It offers two analog inputs and two analog outputs for process setpoints and feedback, while 29 multifunction control terminals accommodate start, stop, fault, and reference signals. The inverter has 8 digital inputs and two digital outputs for field-level interlocks. An external 24 V supply keeps the control logic active during a loss of mains power, and the internal task scheduler completes each I/O cycle in 1 ms to support rapid control responses. Sensor ports accept command signals from 0 to ±10 V or from 0 to ±20 mA. Current-mode devices operating within the industry-standard 4 to 20 mA range are handled without additional signal conditioning. For power input, the drive accepts a 400 V AC three-phase supply or a rectified AC/DC bus, providing flexibility for different cabinet power arrangements.

The inverter has size code 14, placing it within the midrange frame of the platform. When supplied with 230 V AC in the unit B configuration, it can deliver up to 10 HP of mechanical output. The electronics permit short-duration overloads of up to 125% of the rated current during acceleration before the overcurrent trip level of 150% is reached. The power devices switch at 2 kHz, balancing acoustic noise and thermal dissipation in sensorless applications that use the calculated speed model. The drive is suitable for pumps, fans, small extruders, conveyors, and packaging equipment that require continuous torque and compact installation.
