Product Description:
The 14.F5.A1E-YRA0 inverter is manufactured by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It is a field-oriented AC drive that converts fixed mains power into a variable-voltage, variable-frequency waveform, allowing a mechanical axis in an automated line to achieve accurate speed or torque response. Mounted in a central cabinet, it can power an individual conveyor, feeder, or gantry axis that must operate in coordination with other motion channels. Its field-oriented control method regulates motor current to support responsive operation as the commanded speed or load changes.
The electronics use a Standard Board with the baseline inputs, outputs, protective functions, and parameter set supplied without optional expansion cards. Continuous shaft output is limited to 10 HP for standard 460 V units and for the Unit B configuration when operated from a 230 V supply. The inverter uses housing form factor code E, which corresponds to a common enclosure size, mounting pattern, and cooling airflow path within the product line. The assigned size code is 14, matching the power components, DC-bus capacitors, and cooling surface to the applicable output class. A factory-installed braking transistor allows an external resistor to dissipate regenerated energy during rapid deceleration. This arrangement helps prevent excessive DC-bus voltage when a high-inertia load is brought to a controlled stop.
The inverter is supplied with no encoder feedback card, so resolver or encoder signals must be routed to a separate motion controller when position feedback is required. The drive still performs closed-loop current control locally, while the external controller can process speed or position feedback for the machine axis. This arrangement separates motor-current regulation from higher-level motion calculations without adding an internal feedback interface. Connections for the motor, mains supply, control signals, and braking resistor should follow the terminal assignments for this enclosure and power class. Cabinet airflow must remain unobstructed around the housing so heat from the power electronics can leave through the intended cooling path. Coordinated commands from the machine controller allow the inverter to regulate its connected axis alongside other drives in the automated system.
