Product Description:
The 14.F5.A1D-38HA is an axis inverter produced by KEB and supplied within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. Designed for cabinet installation, it converts three-phase AC or DC bus power into a regulated output that controls induction or synchronous motors used on conveyors, spindles, and handling modules. The drive’s power section is matched to demanding motion applications and integrates a braking transistor so regenerated energy can be dissipated through an external resistor during fast deceleration.
Rated output reaches 7.5 kW, and the continuous current limit is set at 16.5 A. For short bursts such as acceleration, the unit can deliver a peak current of 29.7 A without exceeding thermal limits. When supplied from a 400 V network, the inverter supports motors up to 10 HP, which aligns with the capacity of the power stage and the “14” size code of the platform. Two differential analog input channels are sampled at 12-bit resolution, allowing the controller to accept precise speed or torque references from PLCs. Eight optically isolated digital inputs complement those channels and are polled every millisecond to synchronize the drive state with machine sensors and control circuits. This combination of analog and digital channels allows the inverter to process reference values and machine-state signals through separate input paths.
The standard control board offers two analog outputs with 10-bit resolution for sending process variables to external indicators. An overcurrent trip occurs at 216 % of rated current, providing a fast cutoff before the power semiconductors are damaged. Pulse-width modulation can operate at up to 16 kHz, although the default switching frequency is 2 kHz to balance acoustic noise and switching losses. Input events are latched within 1 ms, which works with the resolver or incremental encoder interface to maintain tight position loops. The housing uses the D enclosure code for the power stack, and the supply terminals are arranged according to the Combivert mechanical format.
