Product Description:
The 14.F5.A1D-38DA is an axis drive module produced by KEB within the Combivert F5 series. This model operates as an inverter that regulates the speed and torque of AC motors in automated machinery and coordinated multi-axis lines. By converting a three-phase mains supply into a variable voltage and frequency output, the unit allows precise acceleration, deceleration, and positioning tasks common in conveyors, pumps, and process equipment. The D version uses a standard control board and supports closed-loop feedback.
The drive accepts a 3-Ph 400 V AC/DC three-phase supply, and within that system it tolerates an input voltage window from 305–528 V. Internally, the inverter operates at a rated switching frequency of 2 kHz but can be configured up to 16 kHz when acoustic noise or dynamic performance must be optimized. Continuous motor current is limited to 16.5 A, while short-term transients are accommodated by a peak capability of 29.7 A, delivering additional torque during acceleration. Size code 14 indicates the physical frame and heat-sink capacity, and the installed control board supports incremental encoder signals through the “Inc. In / Inc. Out” feedback interface.
Mechanical protection corresponds to the enclosure rating of IP20, so the unit is intended for installation inside a control cabinet with controlled airflow. A factory-installed braking module identified as GTR7 is fitted; this transistor dissipates regenerated energy during rapid deceleration and is also listed as an installed accessory. When powered from the 400 V supply, the drive can command motors up to 10 HP, and the same power limit applies for 230 V operation in Unit B wiring schemes. An on-board LCD Operator with Serial/CAN and peak output feature provides local parameter entry, status viewing, and peak current monitoring.
