Product Description:
The 13.F5.C1D-L90A is an AC inverter built by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It modulates the voltage and frequency supplied to a connected motor so that speed, torque, and dynamic braking can be controlled by the machine controller. By linking its control terminals to field I/O and serial networks, the drive can serve as the main actuator for conveyors, spindles, and positioning axes that require closed-loop regulation in industrial automation.
The analog section provides two inputs and two outputs with 12-bit resolution, allowing scaled reference signals to be exchanged with external controllers. Discrete events are handled through eight digital inputs and two digital outputs, all refreshed every 2 ms. Pulse-width modulation uses a carrier frequency adjustable from 4 to 16 kHz, giving a trade-off between acoustic noise and switching losses. During high acceleration demand, the power stage can deliver up to 25.9 A, while its continuous current rating is 12 A. The drive has a rated output of 5.5 kW and operates from a three-phase 400 V AC supply. It also includes 29 control terminals, two relay outputs, and a built-in braking transistor for sequence control without extra interface modules.
Total sourcing capacity for the transistor outputs is limited to 50 mA total, which is suitable for indicator lamps or PLC input cards. For motors up to 7.5 HP, inverter size code 13 provides thermal margin within the cast heatsink. Compliance with EMC category C1 supports installation in applications that require low conducted emissions. The unit also has two relays rated at 30 VDC and 1 A, and its analog and digital functions are isolated through the Combivert architecture to help keep the 29-point I/O block responsive when the braking transistor is dissipating regenerated energy.
