Internal Product Review
The 13.F5.B1E-160A is a KEB F5 Combivert axis drive built for 3-phase 230 V AC input. A 24 A rated current and 7.5 HP motor capacity give the drive a solid operating range for demanding motion tasks. IP20 enclosure protection and an integrated braking transistor make the package especially appealing for controlled cabinet installations.

Product Description:
The 13.F5.B1E-160A is an inverter drive manufactured by KEB inside the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It is installed between the plant's controller and an AC motor to deliver variable frequency and voltage. This arrangement supports coordinated axis motion in automated lines that require accurate speed and torque regulation. Because it varies both frequency and voltage, the unit can control motor speed smoothly across changing load conditions. This makes it suitable for axes that need repeatable response during starts, stops, and speed changes.
The power section accepts a three-wire supply of 230 V AC from a three-phase AC network. Under nominal duty, it outputs 24 A, while short-term peaks can reach 43 A to handle acceleration transients. Carrier modulation can be set to 8/16 kHz to balance acoustic noise and thermal loading. Control updates occur every 2 ms; within each cycle the microprocessor samples one analog input, one analog output, five digital inputs, and two relay drivers that follow PNP logic conventions. A braking transistor is factory-mounted to dissipate regenerated energy when the motor decelerates. Parameter memory stores eight independent data sets so the same hardware can switch quickly between machine recipes without manual retuning.
The drive supports motors up to 7.5 HP when used with unit size B ratings, matching the internal sizing code 13 and housing code E. The enclosure is rated IP20, so it is suitable for mounting inside a protected cabinet. The internal control section is powered from a dedicated 24 V DC supply. Two form-C relays provide field isolation for contactors or alarms and are limited to 30 VDC at 1 A. The relay contacts can be assigned to contactor control or alarm signaling, which helps separate field circuits from the control electronics.
