The 13.F5.ABD-Y0HA is a variable-frequency inverter manufactured by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It converts fixed three-phase mains power into a controlled output waveform so that connected induction or synchronous motors follow precise speed and torque commands. The platform integrates drive regulation, protective logic, and fieldbus connectivity inside one chassis. This arrangement lets the inverter regulate acceleration, deceleration, and steady-state speed from a compact housing.
The unit uses inverter size code 13 and a standard control board that stores operating parameters. The drive links to a three-phase supply at 400 V and draws 17 A at the input. Its IGBT bridge delivers an output phase current of 12 A, which corresponds to 8.3 kVA of continuous power. Switching devices operate at 2 kHz, a frequency chosen to balance acoustic noise and semiconductor losses. An overload margin of 150% is available for acceleration or shock loads, and a built-in safety relay opens the mains contactors when a fault is detected. The short-time current limit is fixed at 125% to protect the output stage during brief demand spikes.
A braking transistor is included so regenerated energy can be routed to an external resistor no smaller than 56 Ω, and the braking circuit tolerates 15 A of current. This arrangement helps dissipate returned energy during deceleration without placing that load inside the inverter housing. Line protection uses a 25 A main fuse, while the inverter can supply a peak output of 21.6 A for brief intervals before thermal modeling intervenes. Overcurrent shutdown is triggered at 25.9 A, which places the trip point above the short peak-current range. The general rating is 7.5 HP, and the Unit B configuration powered from 230 V maintains the same motor capacity.
