Product Description:
KEB manufactures the 13.F5.A3D-YA0H for its F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. The unit is an AC inverter that modulates voltage and frequency to run a single servo or induction motor in automated machinery. By linking to a PLC over the standard drive bus, it supplies closed-loop speed and torque regulation, enabling precise positioning, tension control, or duty-cycle optimization without an external converter.
The drive is built around a Standard Board control module that handles V/f regulation. When tied into a DC bus, it operates within a link range of 420–746 V, while standalone operation accepts an AC line between 305–528 V at 50/60 Hz ±2%. Under nominal conditions, the converter is referenced to 400 V mains, draws 17 A of input current, and delivers 12 A to the motor. Its inverter size code 13 indicates the terminal spacing, and the rated switching frequency is 8 kHz for a balance of noise and efficiency. At that carrier frequency, the unit supports 5.5 kW of shaft power, corresponding to 7.5 hp on the general rating or the 230 V Unit B curve. A built-in braking transistor and EMI filter are included for simplified wiring.
Protective functions manage short-term overloads and braking energy. The internal transistor tolerates a maximum braking current of 15 A and requires an external resistor no lower than 56 Ω to keep dissipation within limits. For acceleration surges, the output stage supplies 21.6 A for a brief period before the overcurrent monitor trips at 25.9 A. When higher dynamic response is required, the carrier can be increased to 16 kHz, provided the heat sink remains below 90 °C. The thermal sensor enforces derating if that limit is approached. At the rated carrier, the inverter delivers 8.3 kVA, allowing full torque from matched motors while the installed EMI filter keeps conducted noise within industrial limits.
