Product Description:
The 13.F5.A1D-39DA axis drive is built by KEB as part of the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. Within a cabinet, this inverter links to a motion controller and modulates the voltage and frequency supplied to one or more three-phase motors, enabling closed-loop speed and torque control in conveyor sections, indexers, and coordinated axes. It is intended for applications that need cabinet-mounted motor control for repeatable motion and stable speed regulation. By varying motor output in response to control commands, it can support acceleration, steady running, and controlled deceleration in automated handling equipment.
At the hardware level, the inverter carries the Standard Board, which provides default I/O, logic supply, and sensor terminals without expansion modules. These connections allow basic signal wiring to be completed without additional option cards. The power section uses size code 13, indicating the frame dimensions and heat-sink capacity associated with motors up to 7.5 HP under normal duty. A built-in braking transistor is fitted, so excess regenerative energy can be routed to an external resistor instead of tripping the DC bus. Operation and setup are handled through the front-mounted LCD operator with Serial/CAN and peak output feature, which displays process values, supports parameter entry, and forwards status data to higher-level controllers.
For installations that run on 230 V supplies, the drive sustains the same output ceiling when ordered as Unit B, so no derating is required for the lower mains voltage. That arrangement supports systems where the available plant supply is lower than the higher-voltage versions used elsewhere in the range. The letter D in the part code identifies this unit version within the product range. The model remains part of the Combivert F5 platform, and that designation indicates compatibility with related axis drives in the same product family.
