The 13.56.210 is an AC axis drive module produced by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. This unit converts fixed-frequency three-phase mains power into a variable output that regulates the speed and torque of synchronous or induction motors used in automated machinery. By integrating pulse-width-modulated output stages with application-specific control software, the module supplies closed-loop control for conveyors, spindles, and positioning axes across factory systems.
It accepts a three-phase input at 400 VAC and can deliver up to 12.0 A of output current, while its apparent power reaches 8.3 kVA. With a general motor limit of 7.5 HP, which also applies to 230 V unit-B versions, the drive supports medium-power axes. Line protection requires a maximum mains fuse of 20 A. The unit has inverter size code 13 and includes a factory-installed braking transistor for dynamic deceleration. Internal logic is supported by a 15 VDC control rail that supplies 100 mA, a 10 VDC reference track for analog commands, and a 5 VDC interface that supplies 50 mA to encoders. Each digital input has an impedance of 2.4 kΩ, ensuring a predictable load on PLC outputs.
For installation, wiring to the mains terminals must have a cross-sectional area of at least 2.5 mm², and the protective earth must be bonded accordingly. The open-chassis construction has an enclosure classification of IP00, so the unit must be mounted inside a switch cabinet with controlled airflow. Operation is permitted at elevations up to 3000 m above sea level. Above that elevation, the permissible current and power decrease by 1 % per 100 m in accordance with the altitude derating guideline. These installation requirements help protect the exposed electrical components and maintain adequate heat dissipation during operation.
